The rot at DOJ runs deep
Having watched the Department of Justice in action these last 20 or so years, I see the raid on Mar-a-Lago as unprecedented only in its conspicuousness.
After Al Gore’s bitter loss in 2000, Democrats across the board have dedicated themselves to bureaucratic sedition, enabled by an equally embittered and increasingly imbalanced media. The FBI and the Department of Justice, which oversees the FBI, are riddled with leftist careerists, many of them in key positions. The symptoms of rot have been hard to avoid since at least 2004.
That was the year the exploits of former Clinton national security adviser Sandy Berger first surfaced. In the act of reviewing documents before his 9/11 Commission testimony, Berger did some things that would have put you or me in prison. He swiped some highly classified documents, and then, during a break, stashed them under a trailer at a construction site. He retrieved them at the end of the day and admittedly used scissors to cut the documents into little pieces before throwing them away.
Time for Florida to Host a Real Climate Summit
A recent trip to Europe has convinced me that the world is about to descend into a self-imposed dark age. More worrisome still is that Europe’s duly elected despots are dooming their 
nations to darkness without any meaningful discussion as to why. As in World Wars I and II, the New World will have to save the old, but most of our leaders are as eager to suppress dissent as are theirs — most, but not all. If there is light to be found, it will come from the Sunshine State.
In Ireland, where I spent a week, “sustainability” has replaced Roman Catholicism as the nation’s religion. “Climate,” in one manifestation or another, dominates the news. One hot topic involved carbon targets for agriculture. There was no debate as to the need for reductions. None. The only debate was about the scope: the Greens wanted 30 percent; the farmers would settle, if need be, for 22 percent. For the record, the Republic of Ireland makes up about one-ten thousandth of the world’s land mass. Other than the Irish themselves, no one will notice the nation’s perverse self-sacrifice.
The TWA 800 Whistleblower Is Legit
In the past few weeks, I have received numerous inquiries about ten-year Navy veteran William Henry Teele III. After years of quietly providing information to me and other investigators into the July 1996 destruction of TWA Flight 800 off the coast of Long Island, Teele has gone public and is naming names.
I shared some of Teele’s information in my 2016 book, TWA 800: The Crash, The Cover-Up, The Conspiracy. Teele did not claim to be on the ship that fired the missile. He was on the USS Carr, a guided missile frigate that was one of the “combatants” in the battle group that destroyed the unfortunate 747 and killed the 230 souls on board. Everything that I could verify about Teele’s account back then checked out.
In the six years since, Teele has reached out to many of his fellow sailors and fleshed out his account. Although he has appeared on several podcasts in recent weeks, his uninterrupted narrative on the Duke Report is the most compelling. My research suggests Teele is the real deal but I remain open, as all journalists should, to contrary information.
Trump’s Solomonic win-win in Missouri
Before leaving the country a few weeks ago, I checked the polls to see which of the candidates in the Missouri U.S. Senate primary had the best chance of beating disgraced former 
Gov. Eric Greitens. My homework done, I proceeded to vote absentee for Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt. In the waning weeks of the election, many other Missourians made the same decision for much the same reason. What had been a tight race suddenly became a blowout.
Schmitt more than doubled the vote of his nearest challenger, Rep. Vicky Hartzler, and left Greitens behind in third-place dust. The wild card throughout the election cycle had been the Donald Trump endorsement. Greitens was banking on it. His selection of Trump’s daughter-in-law Kimberly Guilfoyle as co-chair of his campaign would seem to have given him the inside track. In the weeks leading up to the election, Trump’s continued silence diminished the value of an endorsement should one be forthcoming. His ringing non-endorsement of Hartzler on July 10, however, did shake up the race.
Why is Derek Chauvin in prison and Lila Morris is not?
Former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin and D.C. Metro Police Officer Lila Morris each encountered a likely lawbreaker of another race in distress. One attempted to arrest the lawbreaker as peacefully as possible. The other beat the distressed person savagely with a stick.
The one officer became a national pariah and is likely to spend the next 20 or so years in prison. The other officer is unknown to the major media and has not even been reprimanded. Those who insist that America is laboring under a two-tier justice system need no other example to prove their case.
Morris, the D.C. officer, is black. Her victim’s name is Roseanne Boyland. She was white. Should race matter in this case? Why not? It certainly did in Chauvin’s. Had George Floyd been white, Chauvin would likely still be a Minneapolis cop.
How Trump conquered the Jersey Shore
This past weekend I was walking down the boardwalk of Seaside Heights, New Jersey – the honky-tonk setting for the dubious reality series “Jersey Shore” – when a young man walked toward me buff enough to have been a member of that cast. That was no big deal. Guys like that have been walking this boardwalk since I was kid. What caught my eye was that he was wearing a “Trump 2020” muscle shirt. I had seen a lot of Trump paraphernalia in this part of the world but never a muscle shirt.
The house next to where we are staying proudly flies a large “Let’s Go Brandon” flag right under the American flag. So does a store on the town’s main street. A lady at church on Sunday carried a Trump tote bag. In 2020, as in 2016, one shop on the boardwalk sold nothing but Trump accoutrements. As I was walking back from church, management announced the opening of the beaches with a stirring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. All the people I could see stopped, doffed their caps and faced the massive American flag flying over the boardwalk. That’s the kind of place Seaside is.
The ongoing mob ‘justice’ against Derek Chauvin
The Scottsboro Boys got more justice than Chauvin and company.
If a 22-year prison sentence were not punishment enough for former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin, Federal Judge Paul Magnuson added another 21 on federal civil rights charges. In handing down the sentence, Magnuson had the nerve to tell Chauvin, “You absolutely destroyed the lives of three other young officers.” Chauvin destroyed their lives? Let’s back up here, Judge. To say, “I really don’t know why you did what you did,” raises the obvious question: Shouldn’t you have known before sentencing Chauvin to 21 years in prison?
Here, Judge, is why Chauvin did what he did. When Chauvin arrived on the scene, two of the three officers whose lives Chauvin “destroyed” were struggling to arrest chronic felon and doper George Floyd. What made the arrest difficult is that the muscular Floyd was a half-foot taller and at least 50 pounds heavier than the biggest of the officers. As senior officer on the scene, Chauvin had to do something.
Ivy Plagiarism Pandemic Invades Princeton
The one obvious clue that President Joe Biden did not attend an Ivy League University is this: When busted for plagiarism, Biden suffered real-world consequences. In a 1987 Democratic primary debate,
If Biden had an Ivy education, he too might have gotten a pass on his plagiarism.
while very much a viable candidate, Biden famously lifted a passage from a speech by Neil Kinnock, the former leader of Britain’s Labour Party, and tried to pass it off as his own.
The Michael Dukakis campaign caught the theft, and the media, still in their journalism phase, went digging for more purloined pearls of Biden wisdom. They were not hard to find. Under pressure, Biden had to confess that he had plagiarized a paper while in law school — the Syracuse University Law School, that is — and he was out of the presidential race even before the corn stalks withered in Iowa.
As Biden learned the hard way, a Syracuse University affiliation offers no immunity to the plagiarism bug. Harvard’s does. Yale’s does. And Princeton’s will likely do the same. But even the Ivy schools require the individual to boost his/her/their natural Ivy immunity with renewable doses of progressive toxins.No Ivy Leaguer has done more to earn his immunity than “History’s Attack Dog,” Princeton University professor Kevin Kruse. In addition to his more prosaic tasks at Princeton, Kruse has assumed the responsibility of patrolling the daily news. “Online,” observes Emma Pettit in The Chronicle of Higher Education, “the historian specializes in serialized posts, called threads, that lend historical context to breaking news or skewer a version of history spouted by right-wing agitators.” It is the skewering that has netted Kruse his 502,000 followers on Twitter.

If Barack Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham, had been alive today, we can be confident she would have been among the loudest voices at whatever pro-abortion protest would have her.
As Obama describes his mother in his memoir, “Dreams from My Father,” Ann was “a lonely witness for secular humanism, a soldier for New Deal, Peace Corps, position-paper liberalism.” And she was all these things before such things were cool.
Her parents were a bit more traditional. In the summer of 1960, they faced a dilemma. Their daughter was pregnant, and she had alerted them that the father was black. Today, a mixed-race couple can make a living just starring in TV commercials.
How war in Ukraine became a punch line to a joke
When I drove by a liberal church in my neighborhood recently and saw that they had replaced their Ukrainian decorations with 19 little chairs – Uvalde, get it? – I had to ask myself, “Is there still a war going on in Ukraine?”
A few months ago, Ukrainian President Zelensky could be forgiven for thinking that liberal America had no higher priority than to see him repel the dread Russian invaders. If proof were needed, during a one-month span from mid-February to mid-March, the three main broadcast TV networks – CBS, NBC, ABC – dedicated more air time to the war in Ukraine than they had to the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan during any given month.
